Dr. Michael Wilby graduated from McGill University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science and in 1974 with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He completed his residency and obtained his periodontal specialty certificate from the University of Oregon in 1978.
Dr. Wilby is a fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of B.C., a member of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a fellow of the American College of Dentists, and a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a fellow of the Misch Implant Institute, a former faculty member of the Pacific Implant Institute, and a member of numerous other dental, periodontal, and implant associations.
Dr. Wilby has lectured both locally and internationally. He has been a mentor of study clubs, and is a clinical associate professor with the graduate periodontology program at the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Wilby established periodontal specialty private practices in Richmond, B.C. and Whitehorse, Yukon. In July 2010, Dr. Wilby sold his Richmond practice to Dr. Martin Kim, with whom he has become an associate. Dr. Wilby plans to retire to the Saanich Peninsula and provide part-time periodontal and implant services in Victoria.
